NEW BUSINESS
All positions, with the exception of Treasurer, are in need of volunteers, as the entire board is not seeking re-election.
If we don’t have anyone stepping forward, we don’t know what will become of the
Osborn Island Residents Association.
None of these positions are that difficult, just attend most of the Steering & Membership meetings, held bi-monthly, and expend a little effort to better represent the goals of the Association:
In order to preserve the environment and quality of life on Osborn Island, to generate neighborliness among its residents and protect the value of their property, to discourage overdevelopment and commercial exploitation of the area, and to encourage pride in the region’s history, this not-for-profit Association was formed on the 23rd of March, 1989.
If you are interested in becoming an officer in the Association, please contact:
Richard Maas 609-335-9426 or

Association Dredging Committee Update Osborn Island
WE’RE UNDERWAY!
The Committee has contracted with a distinguished engineering firm to compile a “feasibility study”.
This study will examine and evaluate the scope of work necessary to complete our dredging project, which will have benefits for all
Osborn Island residents. These benefits will help maintain our property values and make our boating more pleasurable.
More updates to follow as progress continues.
Scuttlebutt.....January 2008
Hi to all, and welcome to 2008. Hope all of your holidays were happy and filled with love, family and friends. I want to thank all of the members who gave of their time and talents to make our Christmas party a wonderful, festive affair. I want to extend special thanks and gratitude to Linda Zembrzuski, the co-chair of the event. Linda was very gracious and stood in for me and finalized and oversaw the party. I had a last minute change of plans. Our granddaughter Jaclyn’s cheering squad was in the National Championships at Disney World the day of the Christmas Party. Her squad, the Allentown Redbirds, won the National Title in their division. It was so thrilling. Again, thanks Linda for taking over the last minute so Bill and I could attend.
The Ladies Christmas Luncheon was held at the Sea View Marriott. It was a great get together and we all enjoyed the drinks and eats. Thanks to Pat for all her work throughout the year that makes these luncheons a success. For info call Pat Shepherd at 294-9740.
On a more somber note, the Association extends deepest sympathy to: Marilyn Cordasco on the death of her husband Sal; to Pat and Wil Shepherd on the death of Pat’s daughter, Judy; and to Fred and Erin Kopp on the death of Fred’s Mother and Aunt. Our thoughts are with you all at this time. We wish you all the best.
Ed Gautier, from Louisiana Drive, is a candidate for Fire Commissioner this year. The elections will be held at the
Mystic Islands Fire House on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 2 to 8 pm. Bill and I delivered the remaining donations for our service men and women to the American Legion Post on
Radio Road. The Post Commander and Adjunct were very grateful and want to express their thanks to the Association. The items were sent out in several packages before Christmas. Thanks to all of the members and friends who donated. The remaining donations filled 2 large boxes. On that note, I will close wishing all of you a healthy, happy New Year filled with peace.
